The Curragh Races appears in O’Neill’s Music of Ireland (1907), though an earlier version of the tune is published in Ryan’s Mammoth Collection (1883) as “The London Lasses.” Our version of Jenny Picking Cockles is generally associated with piper Willie Clancy. Lynnsey learned her version from James Kelly, and Treasa learned her near identical version from Donncha Ó Briain, which is published in the Golden Eagle tunebook, vol. 1.
