Piper Willie Clancy’s version of The Yellow Wattle appears in The Dance Music of Willie Clancy, ed. Pat Mitchell. Come Have a Drink With Me appears in O’Neill’s Music of Ireland (1907) as “Have a Drink on Me” – a more generous sentiment! It also appears in Roche’s collection, vol. 1, as “The Flaxdresser.” The last tune is a lesser-heard Eddie Moloney composition.

Fiddle player Caitlin Finley played for us back in the day at the Coatesville Traditional Irish Music Series. It took a while to find out she’d made a CD with flute & piano (also piccolo, pipes & melodeon) accompaniment but it was worth the wait! Check it out. Will Woodson & Chris Stevens are standouts, too. It’s nice to find a contemporary Irish CD I like start to finish. Frank Dalton

Masterful box playing. Has some very appealing, unusual quality to it - hard to put into words... might be the Sliabh Luachra style peeping through. musicstillspeaks
